We have been operating since 2000, specialising in providing an Umbrella service for those freelancers on short-term contracts or who are unsure of long term plans, we provide expert tax advice, particularly around claimable expenses.

An umbrella company allows you to claim bona fide expenses, which means more pay in your pocket. You have no admin, no commitment, no hassle and no limited company statutory or legislative worries and responsibilities!

We will pay you any day of the month, on the same day your agency pays us!

Brief Job History:

I was one of three in my school not to go to University but joined Lloyds Bank on their Management training program. I left after a year, securing a position in London with an American Bank, working in the FX support unit. I then moved to Prudential Bache, a major commodity trading company where I worked in the margin department. In 1987 I moved into the IFA sector and set up the Carrington Group in 1996, focusing on delivering great client service and expert independent advice both in accountancy and finance.

Best Decision:

Getting out of the City just before the Stock Market crashed in 1987.

Worst Decision:

Drinking at least 10 tequila slammers on holiday in Spain sometime in the early 80's.

Hobbies:

Breeding top quality dressage horses and Show jumpers at my base in Germany. Also breeding Suffolk and Texel Sheep.

Brief Job History:

I have been with Carrington Accountancy for over 9 years. My responsibilities include managing accounts for both Umbrella and Limited services and maintaining and developing the company’s IT infrastructure.

Prior to working for Carrington, I began my accountancy career in India as an apprentice for a chartered accountant. In 1996 I moved to England and began working for a London based accountancy firm which I was at for a number of years before joining Carrington in 2001. In this time I developed my focus from manual to automated systems.

Best Decision:

Moving From Belfast to London.

Worst Decision:

Leaving passport at hotel...and not remembering the hotel name.

Hobbies:

Cricket, Bollywood Movies, Computer Games.

I have over 11 years experience of working in accountancy and have specialised for the last 5 years in assisting Contractors who operate using their own limited company. Prior to joining Carrington, I have worked for various firms both in Kent and London.

Best Decision:

Taking voluntary redundancy from a previous job 24 hours before flying to Australia.

Worst Decision:

Not traveling the world before starting my career.

Brief Job History:

I am responsible for managing the payroll for all of Carrington’s Umbrella clients. I have over 5 years experience and have a passion for making sure you get paid on time. Prior to joining Carrington I worked as the Payroll Manager for a company called Euro Earthworks. I worked with them for over four years, in which time I gained much experience in the field, experience which has enabled me to continue forward, Carrington’s excellent track record in Payroll.

Best Decision:

Moving to Spain for two years after I finished my A Levels, as not only did it help me improve my Spanish but I also made some great friend whilst there and enjoyed my time immensely.

Worst Decision:

Attempting the difficult slope at Sierra Nevada, on my first ever skiing trip. I spent 6 weeks on crutches.

Hobbies:

Travelling, cooking and socialising with friends.

Brief Job History:

I am responsible for looking after the relationship between our accountants and clients, the glue that keeps things together.

Prior to working for Carrington I was working for an Antipodean Financial Group which has provided me with the knowledge and experience to ensure that the communication between our local Kiwi David Brown and our clients is free flowing! I worked in Umbrella and Limited company departments and moved on to Business Development before joining Carrington where I have been for the last 12 months.

Best Decision:

Moving to the UK.

Worst Decision:

Buying a Vuvuzela for my nieces.

Hobbies:

Eating out, traveling, wine appreciation.
